We love New York. That’s why the Environmental Protection Fund must be fully funded both for our families today and for future generations tomorrow.
New York’s Environmental Protection Fund helps ensure a healthier environment and healthier communities across the state by investing in everything from parks and zoos to wastewater infrastructure, pesticide research and open space and farmland preservation.
But even though the Fund is often the last line of defense when it comes to protecting what we love most about New York, Governor David Paterson cut it by more than a third in his budget proposal for 2010-2011.
Keep Protecting New York. Restore Our Environmental Protection Fund.
The Fund is New York’s main revenue source for all things green. By gutting the Fund in his budget proposal, Governor Paterson is putting the health of our air, water and land at risk. But it’s not too late to right the Governor’s wrong.
For the next few weeks, the State Legislature will be deep in negotiations with the Governor to finalize the budget for 2010-2011.
We’re looking for a FS (financially secure) LTR (long term relationship) with a few brave lawmakers.
The We Love New York campaign is calling on state leaders and legislators to show how much they Love New York by restoring our Environmental Protection Fund.
